Dodgers Place Scott Elbert on DL – Recall Shawn Tolleson from Rancho Cucamonga

The Dodgers have placed left-handed pitcher Scott Elbert on the 15-day disabled list with left elbow inflammation and recalled right-handed pitcher Shawn Tolleson from Single-A Rancho Cucamonga. Elbert made four scoreless appearances (3.1 IP) since returning from the DL on Aug. 19 and overall is 1-1 with a 2.20 ERA in 43 games this season.

Tolleson, who was optioned on Monday, has tossed scoreless relief in 13 of his last 14 appearances (13.0 IP) and posted a 1.38 ERA (2 ER/13.0 IP) since July 24. Overall, the 24-year-old has limited opposing hitters to a .186 batting average, including a .106 mark against right-handers (5-for-47), and is 1-0 with a 3.42 ERA in 25 appearances for the Dodgers. Tolleson last pitched on Sunday against the Marlins, allowing two runs in 1.1 innings.
