Zack Greinke is a Dodger

It’s on every Dodger blog site and sports media outlet in the universe, so I’m not going to belabor the issue here; but just in case this is your first stop along the World Wide Web, Zack Greinke signed with the Dodgers on Saturday evening.

Here’s the breakdown:

  • Six years / $147M
  • $12M signing bonus
  • $17M in 2013,
  • $24M in 2014,
  • $23M in 2015,
  • $24M in 2016,
  • $23M in 2017,
  • $24M in 2018.
  • Greinke did not receive a no-trade clause with the contract.
  • Because he was traded mid-season from the Brewers to the Angels, the Dodgers do not lose a first round draft pick.

According to Angels manager Mike Scioscia, Zack Greinke absolutely loves to hit – something that he did not get to do even once in Anaheim. (Photo credit – Jeff Gross)

We would not believe that things like this could happen when the team was still in the McCourt era. New ownership is really trying to catch and pass the Giants. I couldn’t asks for much more than this team is showing what they can do.
Well one thing is for sure, if it doesn’t work out, we can’t say that they’re not trying.
