Dodgers to host Team Japan on Sunday at Camelback Ranch

The Dodgers will host World Baseball Classic semifinalists Team Japan at Camelback Ranch on Sunday, March 19 on their way to the WBC single-elimination championship round, which will be held at Dodger Stadium on Tuesday, March 21.

Japan won WBC Pool E in Tokyo and will face the second-place team from Pool F of either Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, Venezuela, or the United States, which will take place at Petco Park in San Diego over the next two days.

Team Japan is undefeated through the first two rounds of the 2017 WBC and is a two-time WBC champion (2006 and 2009). They are also the only nation to have reached the tournament’s semifinal round in all four of the quadrennial event. The team is led by WBC first-round MVP Yoshitomo Tsutsugo, hero of the clinching win vs. Team Israel with his sixth-inning home run. It was his third home run of the tournament. The 25-year-old Hashimoto, Japan native is the clean-up hitter for the Yokohama DeNA BayStars, where he hit 44 home runs in 133 games last season.

Tickets for Sunday’s contest between the Dodgers and Team Japan at Camelback Ranch are available online at camelbackranchbaseball.com and at the Camelback Ranch ticket office. With several recent sellouts this past week, chances are very high that Sunday’s game will also be a sellout.

Tickets for the WBC semifinal rounds and Championship round at Dodger Stadium on March 20-22 are also still available at Dodgers.com/wbc.
