Dodgers announce preliminary 2018 schedule

The Dodgers announced their preliminary 2018 regular season schedule on Tuesday.

In addition to the usual National League suspects, 2018 will again feature interleague play within the American League West, which is always fun because interested Dodger fans won’t have to travel quite as far should they choose to follow their beloved Dodgers on the road for interleague play.

The 2018 season kicks at Dodger Stadium on Thursday, March 29 with a four-game series against the San Francisco Giants. Unlike years past, Opening Day will be on a Thursday in 2018 instead of the more traditional Monday due to recent changes in the MLB Players Association collective bargaining agreement that requires four additional days off in 2018 to make it a 187-day regular season instead of 183.

Interleague play against the AL West will be as follows:

  • April 10-11 – Oakland A’s at Dodger Stadium
  • June 12-13 – Texas Rangers at Dodger Stadium
  • July 6-8 – LA Angels at Angel Stadium
  • July 13-15 – LA Angels at Dodger Stadium
  • August 3-5 – Houston Astros at Dodger Stadium
  • August 7-8 Oakland A’s at Oakland Coliseum
  • August 17-19 – Seattle Mariners at SafeCo Field
  • August 28-29 – Texas Rangers at Globe Life Park

According to the preliminary schedule, the 2018 All-Star Game will be held on Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at Nationals Park in Washington DC.
