Dodgers to host Children’s Holiday Party on Thursday

The Los Angeles Dodgers and the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation (LADF) will play host to more than 300 pre-selected schoolchildren from the community surrounding Dodger Stadium for a day of fun and games at their annual Children’s Holiday Party.

WHO:

  • Austin Barnes, Dodger catcher
  • Joc Pederson, Dodger outfielder
  • Dennis Powell, Billy Ashley and Matt Luke, Dodger alumni
  • Naomi Rodriguez, Dodger Vice President, External Affairs & Community Relations
  • Nichol Whiteman, Executive Director, Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation

Neighborhood schools partaking in the Children’s Holiday party are: Allesandro Elementary School, Ann Street Elementary School, Castelar Elementary School, Clifford Math and Technology Magnet Elementary School, Dorris Place Elementary, Elysian Heights Elementary School, Logan Span Elementary School, and Solano Avenue Elementary School. Children from the Metro YMCA and Para Los Ninos, which provides educational opportunities and wrap-around support to underserved youth.

WHEN:     Thursday, Dec. 14

  • 10:00 a.m: Welcome and Introductions
  • 10:15 a.m.-1:15 p.m: Students rotate between games, photos with Santa, lunch and snow station (Barnes and Pederson expected to arrive around noon)
  • 1:15 p.m: Toy distribution, bike raffle
  • 2:00 p.m: Program concludes

WHERE:     Dodger Stadium, Parking Lot L and Stadium Club

MISC:

The Dodgers’ and LADF’s Children’s Holiday Party will include snow elements courtesy of Artic Glacier Ice, and lunch will be provided to each child courtesy of Levy restaurants.DJ Santana will provide music for the event. Blue Prints will have a photo booth at the event for children to take home holiday-themed photos.

The Dodgers and LADF will distribute toys to each youngster at the conclusion of Thursday’s event courtesy of Fox Networks Group, which has donated 600 toys and books. Santa Claus’ services will be provided by Rolling Deep 4 Charities, which along with Purefix Cycles is donating bicycles to be raffled.
