Dodgers reinstated Tony Cingrani

The Dodgers have reinstated left-handed reliever Tony Cingrani from the 10-day disabled list (for left shoulder inflammation) and optioned left-hander Adam Liberatore to Triple-A Oklahoma City in advance of game-1 of Saturday’s scheduled doubleheader.

The 28-year-old Evergreen, Illinois native is 0-2 on the season with a 5.79 ERA and has held opposing hitters to a .250 batting average in his 18 relief appearances thus far this season. He has also struck out 22 batters while issuing only four walks over his 14.0 innings of work, for an impressive 14.14 K/9 ratio and a 5.50 K/BB ratio.

In his 12 relief appearances thus far this season, Liberatore has a 1-1 record and 3.38 ERA over his 8.0 innings pitched. The 31-year-old Bellflower, California native and lifelong Dodger fan has held opposing hitters to a minuscule .214 batting average, while striking out eight and walking four.

In addition to these roster moves, chances are exceptionally good that there will be additional roster moves prior to game-2 of Saturday’s twin bill.
