Dodger pitcher Nathan Eovaldi started Thursday night’s Double-A game in Chattanooga against the Birmingham Barons but was pulled after pitching only one inning in spite of giving up no runs on one hit with one strikeout. The reason for this is not being discussed and according to Tweets received from Lookouts beat writer Tyler Brown, even Lookouts manager Carlos Subero isn’t sure whats going on. “We don’t know yet. Hopefully he’ll be ready to go the next time,” Subero reportedly told Brown when asked why Eovaldi was removed. According to the Lookouts website, Eovaldi was removed for non-injury reasons.
Speculation is that this move may have been made because of an injury to one of the five Dodger starters, but thus far the Dodgers have remained quiet about this.
