Just as they have done for the past seven years, the Dodgers will once again host their annual ‘Select-A-Seat’ event on Wednesday and Thursday, January 28 and 29 at Dodger Stadium.

The Select-A-Seat event allows current Dodgers season ticket holders the opportunity to exchange or upgrade their season seat locations based on seat availability from former season ticket holders who did not renewed their season seats by the January 6 deadline. Select-A-Seat appointment dates and times for the two-day event are based on season ticket holder seniority.

“I probably won’t be changing my (season) seats,” says 19-year season ticket holder David Baltazar of Long Beach. “I’m already in Row-A in the Left Field Pavilion, but you just never know when something better might become available. I haven’t missed a Select-A-Seat event yet and always look forward to my first Dodger Dog of the New Year.”

Last season Dodgers President and CEO Stan Kasten increased the number of season seats to 34,000, up 3,000 from the previous (and long-standing) cap of 31,000. And in spite of a price increase in some areas for those additional season seats, they sold out rather quickly. In fact, the Dodgers reached the three million attendance mark (based on season ticket and mini plan sales) even before the first pitch was thrown at the 2014 home opener on April 4.

Because of the extremely high number of season ticket holders who have already renewed their seats for 2015, the Dodgers have notified them that they may not be able to add any seats to an account and, in certain locations, the opportunity to upgrade may not be available. Such is the price when you have a winning team that includes guys named Clayton Kershaw, Adrian Gonzalez and Yasiel Puig.

Season ticket holders who are unable to make their scheduled Select-A-Seat appointments on Wednesday or Thursday will have an opportunity exchange or upgrade their season seats on Saturday, January 31 during the Dodgers third annual FanFest, which will be held inside Dodger Stadium this year.
