The Dodgers will play host to approximately 350 active duty service members of our nation’s Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard and their families on Monday, November 11 from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Dodger Stadium. The annual Veterans Day event is being presented by the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health.

As part of the program, Dodgers infielder Gavin Lux and popular Dodgers broadcaster Joe Davis will hold a Q&A session and visit with military members from 12:30-2:00 p.m. during their lunch in the Lexus Dugout Club.

Dodgers alumni Fernando Valenzuela, Ron Cey, Tommy Davis, Billy Ashley, and Dennis Powell will also be on-hand, while military members enjoy a rotation of activities including batting practice (on the field and in the batting cage), stadium tours and photo/autograph opportunities.

Don’t think for one second that current and former members of our military do not take this event seriously, they most certainly do. You’d also be quite impressed with how well many of them do with a bat. (Photo credit – Ron Cervenka)
