Dodgers announce 2018 spring training schedule

After three weeks of post World Series trauma, Dodger fans finally received some good news on Monday afternoon when the team officially announced their 2018 spring training schedule.

According to the much-anticipated announcement, the Dodgers will kickoff spring training 2018 on Friday, February 23, 2018 against their spring training camp mates, the Chicago White Sox, at Camelback Ranch in Glendale, Arizona. It will mark the 10th anniversary for both teams at what is arguably the Cactus League’s most beautiful spring training facility.

The Dodgers will play a total of 33 spring training games in 2018, of which 17 will be played at their spring training home. Of those 17 games, the Dodgers will be the home team for 15 of them, with their Camelback Ranch partners hosting the other two.

The Dodgers will also host games at Camelback Ranch on both days of St. Patrick’s Day Weekend – Saturday, March 17 vs. the White Sox and Sunday, March 18 vs. the Padres – with other likely sell-out dates on Saturday, February 24 against the San Francisco Giants, Saturday night, March 10 against the Chicago Cubs and Thursday night, March 22 against the Angels of Anaheim.

As most baseball fans know by now, the maximum number of spring training games was reduced from 45 games to 43 games per an agreement between the MLB Players Association and MLB. That being said, the Dodgers 2018 spring training schedule is even less at 33 total spring training games. However, for those wishing to make the six hour drive from Los Angeles to Phoenix, there will be at least one Dodgers game at Camelback Ranch on each of the five spring training weekends.

The Dodgers will wrap up their 2018 spring training schedule with the annual Freeway Series against the Angels, which will feature one game at Angel Stadium on Sunday, March 25 and two games at Dodger Stadium on Monday, March 26 and Tuesday, March 27. The Dodgers will then open the 2018 regular season on Thursday, March 29 against the Giants at Dodger Stadium.

Spring training season tickets, mini-plans, group tickets and suites are on sale now at: www.Dodgers.com/Spring or by calling the Camelback Ranch ticket office at: (623) 302-5099. Single-game spring training tickets will go on sale on Friday, January 5, 2018.

      Outstanding!

My plans are to be there when pitchers & catchers report for a few days and then return for the final week of games when the final 40-man roster begins to take shape.
